Our Story

Fox Mountain Inn, a charming 10-room roadside motel established in the 60's and is conveniently situated at

exit 84 on I-81 in Max Meadows, Virginia. Offering a serene escape, the Inn provides tranquil and spotless rooms with a personal touch. Owned by Photographers Jim and Michelle Overdorff as of September 2024. Avid motorcyclists, they fell in love with the area and both looking for a change of pace that could incorporate their love of motorcycling, photography, and people., found FMI to be just what they were looking for. Their love of animals has kept FMI pet friendly and their need to have a place that welcomes everyone to sit and chat around the fire or engage in a peaceful welcoming environment, to fall back in time when life was simpler, and people were friendly, Our mission is to not only offer comfortable accommodations but also to highlight the local charm, attractions, and events of the region.

Experience the thrill of the mountains with your fellow motorists! When you book all rooms, you'll enjoy guided backroad rides each day, capturing every moment with photographs. We also offer this experience to all motorcycle guests for just $150.00 per day with your room reservations. Plus, book 5 or 10 rooms to take advantage of our special room rates. Don’t miss out on this incredible adventure—come ride with us and create unforgettable memories!

Families

Looking to plan a family reunion or a fun getaway with the kids? Look no further! Our Inn is surrounded by plenty of activities, from hiking and kayaking to fishing and exploring historical sites. Just down the road, you'll find Fort Chiswell Animal Park, perfect for family fun. We also have everything you need to host your reunion right here, with a firepit, grills, yard games, and a pet-friendly atmosphere so that every family member is welcome!

Remember when choosing a room for your reservation, you must choose a Pet Friendly Room, even if you are choosing thru a 3rd party Booking site.

We only have 4 PET FRIENDLY ROOMS.

If a 3rd party site or our own here are not showing a Pet Friendly Room available for the date you are trying to book, that means there are no pet rooms left and we can not accommodate any more pets on that date.
